Heating and pump selection

Wax Removal Truck: Batch or Circulation Heating Scope?

Heating a stored quantity and maintaining heat in a circulating stream are different assignments. Identify the proposed mode before selecting the heater and tank arrangement.

Name the heating assignment clearly

Ask the project team to describe whether the selected arrangement prepares a stored quantity, heats a flowing stream or supports separately reviewed modes. Provide the fluid and required conditions for each. A tank capacity and a burner rating do not establish the complete assignment. The bidder should explain which functions the proposed configuration supplies and which assumptions remain provisional before a commercial comparison treats the modes as equivalent.

Identify the actual tank function

Request the role of each included tank and the supported fluid path. Storage, heated preparation, receiving and recirculation duties should not be assumed from the presence of a vessel on the truck. Ask which features and limitations apply to the accepted mode. A tank described as insulated is not automatically a continuously heated receiver or suitable for accepting every changing return stream.

Keep batch preparation separate from delivered flow

For a stored-fluid case, ask what information supports the preparation requirement and any estimate offered. For a circulating case, identify inlet conditions, useful output and the relevant rate together. Do not convert a favorable batch warm-up statement into a guarantee of the same outlet condition at any continuous flow. Request the responsible supplier assessment rather than inventing a universal preparation time from nominal burner capacity.

Review combined or changing modes explicitly

If the campaign requires transitions or more than one function, ask the supplier to identify the supported arrangement and operating restrictions. Separate optional equipment and external connections. A common vehicle does not establish simultaneous heating, receiving and pumping capability at independent maxima. Keep the accepted modes in the technical schedule, with actual operation governed by configuration-specific documents and the approved project program.

Compare evidence for the selected arrangement

Agree what the factory demonstration or other evidence will cover, including the actual tank, heater and pump functions supplied. Identify conditions requiring later site verification. Retain mode-specific assumptions and limits with the order. If the purchaser changes the fluid inventory, return route or duty later, obtain a revised response instead of treating an earlier batch or circulation test as proof of every possible operating arrangement.

Avoid paying for an undefined combination of modes

Ask each bidder to mark base, optional and unsupported functions against the same assignment. Include useful fluid inventory, external services and the connection boundary in that comparison. A larger tank or burner does not necessarily supply the mode the purchaser needs. The accepted offer should identify the arrangement and evidence for the actual duty, without claiming that storage equals treatment autonomy, that batch preparation guarantees continuous delivery or that any returning fluid can be mixed into the supply merely because a tank connection exists.

Suggested wording for the quotation request

Propose the wax-removal truck for the attached batch, circulation or separately defined combined duties. Identify each tank function, the heater and pump arrangement, inlet conditions, useful delivered output and external interfaces. State supported modes and restrictions with separate options where needed. Provide relevant evidence without transferring a batch preparation estimate into an unsupported continuous-flow or simultaneous-duty guarantee.

Select the wax-removal truck against an identified deposit, compatible treating fluid and an accepted circulation assignment. Review heater duty, delivered temperature, paired pump conditions, storage and the external return route together. Maximum component ratings and a wax appearance temperature do not establish a universal treatment recipe or prove cleaning effectiveness. Confirm the actual included equipment, measurement evidence and supplier responsibilities. Retain fluid information, configuration documents, operating limits and acceptance records with the purchase. Work at a well or flowline requires the responsible engineers, competent personnel and approved equipment and site procedures.

Buyer questions

Does a storage tank necessarily provide active batch heating?

No. Confirm its actual function and equipment in the accepted configuration.

Can a batch warm-up claim establish continuous circulation capability?

Not alone. Review the flowing duty and supported arrangement separately.
